Full-service MEP engineering services for a 135,000 SF multi-use facility supporting Georgia State University’s athletic, academic, and community events. Strategically positioned to leverage the site’s natural topography, the center includes dedicated visitor and service access points, integrated stormwater management, and flexible capacity with up to 7,500 guests for commencement ceremonies and 7,200 for basketball games. Mechanical systems include three 300-ton chillers, four 2000-MBH boilers, and a 229-kW electric heating system. Airside systems feature a multi-zone VAV configuration and a combination of Energy Recovery Units and Air Handlers to condition the arena and concourse. A 330,000 CFM smoke exhaust system, powered by twelve roof-mounted fans, ensures life safety and compliance. The electrical design included a 5,000-amp utility service and a 500-kW emergency generator to maintain operational continuity.
