San Diego State University Research Foundation Office

This 18,000 SF higher-education office renovation was designed to foster collaborative, flexible workstations to support a free-address, hybrid work style as employees shifted from five days in the office to three days in the office.

Interior design and workplace strategy services for 18,000 SF San Diego State University Research Foundation office renovation. The original office space accommodated heads-down work for the entire staff. In this new space, only one third of the office was scheduled to be on-site each day, creating space for a new workplace strategy. We met with the SDSU leadership team to discuss their vision, goals and expectations and our renovation produced a new space with hotel desks, private and collaborative workstations and open creative seating. The space consists of one large, open collaboration area with smaller creative neighborhoods containing alternative workspaces. There are 78 heads down work stations for individual work, 16 pod-style workstations, four meeting booths, 20 private offices, 14 creative collaborative spaces and an alternative work lounge extending from the break room out into the open office space.
